"How did you come up with a name like Hank for a kit?"

When I was younger...a lot younger, I really didn't feel like I quite fit in anywhere. But there were two men, male figures if you will, that had a huge influence on me. Henry Mazer and Henry Struck. Henry Mazer kept a small plane (Piper Super Cruiser) behind our house in Ct on a small 1200 foot grass strip we so aptly named, "The Flying Field". Every weekend, at least in the summer, Henry would pull the red and white Piper out of the Hanger and I would help him do his pre-flight. I was probably the only kid in school (age 8 years) that had any stick time. Years later I would receive my commercial pilots license, multi-engine land, instrument and CFII ratings.

The other "Henry" was Henry Struck. If you Google this name, you can't help but see he was quite an influence on the model airplane world beginning in the early days of the sport right up to the time of his death a few years ago. A designer and competitor, he would come up to the same flying field late in the day, when the wind was calm, and test fly different models that he would either enter into competition or simply for the pleasure of flying. I was awe struck by his ability to make a bend here and a tweak there, and send a model gliding as smooth as anything I had ever seen. He even helped solder together my first launch controller!

I never knew how much of an impact these two men had until many, many years later. So as to never forget them again, I have named this kit for them. Every time I pack up one of these kits, I can't help but to re-live some of those find memories on the "Flying Field".
